Folk Blanket

One week before Christmas I began to work on Dads Christmas present.  A ripple blanket in bright colours and a folky feel.  Folk = scraps in my mind so I rummaged a sizeable collection of Cascade 220 Superwash from the Wool Stash and got hooking.

There are splooshes of pink and peach, green and brown...

Lots of warm reds and yellows with contrasting blues...

Oh dear me, what a panic I was in.  I feared I'd still be halfway through the blanket when it came time to open the presents.  I crocheted like a crazy woman, dragging my work around with me and getting in a tangle with the cat.  I hatched a cunning plan to dissuade Handsome Hubble from assisting me...

He's a sucker for boxes and willingly sat in the box so I could crochet like crazy.

I managed to get the last of the ends sewed in and the blanket wrapped with 1 hour to go!!  Phew!

Here are a couple of snaps of the blanket in its new home.  I think it looks lovely!

The pattern is called Ice-Cream Sundae and is on page 45 of my ripple book.

UK Version = 100 Colourful Ripple Stitches to Crochet published be Search Press
US Verstion = 100 Colorful Ripple Stitches to Crochet published by St Martin's Griffin

Ravelry Pattern Page = Ice-Cream Sundae Project

Hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year with lots of hooky fun in amongst the mulled wine drinking and the mince pie eating.

Happy New Year!

  1. Can you please explain what Row 9: Color A means Tiramisu pattern page 35? Do I go back to Row 1 or Row2?

    1. Thanks for your message!! All even numbered rows are a repeat of Row 2 and all odd numbered rows are a repeat of Row 3. So, Row 9 is a repeat of the instructions for Row 3 in Colour A.
