Folk Blanket

One week before Christmas I began to work on Dads Christmas present.  A ripple blanket in bright colours and a folky feel.  Folk = scraps in my mind so I rummaged a sizeable collection of Cascade 220 Superwash from the Wool Stash and got hooking.

There are splooshes of pink and peach, green and brown...

Lots of warm reds and yellows with contrasting blues...

Oh dear me, what a panic I was in.  I feared I'd still be halfway through the blanket when it came time to open the presents.  I crocheted like a crazy woman, dragging my work around with me and getting in a tangle with the cat.  I hatched a cunning plan to dissuade Handsome Hubble from assisting me...

He's a sucker for boxes and willingly sat in the box so I could crochet like crazy.

I managed to get the last of the ends sewed in and the blanket wrapped with 1 hour to go!!  Phew!

Here are a couple of snaps of the blanket in its new home.  I think it looks lovely!
