Crochet Stars

Well, I can't believe how near we are to Christmas.  I glanced at the calendar this morning and completely frightened myself.  Every year, around December 1st, I start to panic about gift shopping - what to get so-and-so, how much money to spend per gift, what colour wrapping paper, gift tags, and "oh no" Christmas cards, the last posting date, etc.

Today, instead of frightening myself, I considered the decorations.  I plan to have red and white decorations with lots and lots of stars everywhere.

I browsed online for a nice sturdy, simple, crochet star pattern but couldn't find one that was just right.  So, I designed my own!  I might make some bunting with the same crochet star pattern, too.

This star was made with acrylic yarn in bright red.  After washing, I pinned out the star and sprayed with starch to make sure the star keeps its shape and doesn't curl.  I left the star pinned out until completely dry.

If you fancy making your own crochet stars, I will write the pattern out in the next few days and post it here on my blog and on Ravelry.
